Barry Docks (Dociau’r Barri)
Barry Docks were built in the 1880s to provide additional capacity for the South Wales coal trade, relieving pressure on nearby Cardiff. The lighthouse at the end of a long breakwater is a simple circular iron tower topped with a lantern and gallery. The breakwater and lighthouse are off-limits to the public and can only be seen from a distance or by boat.
