Built on top of 90m cliffs, there was no need for a tower and the lantern is at ground level. It was built by the Mersey Docks and Harbour board to guide ships to Liverpool and taken over by Trinity House in 1973. After closure the 1st order fixed Fresnel lens was put on display at the Great Orme Visitor Centre and the lighthouse converted to a B&B, where you can enjoy the sea views in comfort from inside the lantern.
