A brick-built tower wrapped in a circular accommodation block, this lighthouse guided ships into the Usk river to Newport for 100 years. After closure it was turned into an inn and later private residence. Following a period of dereliction, it was bought in 1987 by a couple who restored it to operate as a B&B and wedding venue. The work included recreating the lantern (which had been relocated to the Bahamas) according to the original plans. It is now their private home, but there is still holiday accommodation in an adjacent cabin.
